Pancho Villa of San Mateo

I totally thought I put this in my blog already but I guess I was mistaken...

I had a volleyball tournament this weekend in San Mateo and its a tradition that my mom and I go to this taqueria in San Mateo called Pancho Villa. I first went there with my mom after i told her my favourite type of food was (and still is) Mexican food. She said, "If you think you like Mexican food now, wait till you go to Pancho Villa." I honestly had no idea how good it was going to be. It was (and still is) the best salsa I have ever eaten and the best horchata I have ever drank. For any gringos out there, horchata is a rice milk with cinnamon that is the best way to cool off your mouth after some really hot jalapeƱos.

There salsa bar is HUGEEEEE!!! Like 25 different salsas all at 3 different temperatures; mild, medium and hot. They're salsa is so good that it has won the award for best salsa in Bay Area for the last 9 years in a row. They have all of the medals plaqued on their wall.

Not only are their horchata and their salsa to die for, their food is the best, hands down. I usually get a burrito when I go because they are so huge and filling. Not to mention they put me to sleep on the way home;) But i was feeling bold and decided to order the most expensive thing on the menu; The Steak, Grilled Salmon and Garlic Prawns Combo Plate.

It was far better than I expected despite the high expectations I already have of their food. It was just the most amazing meal ever!!!!!!:) The steak was perfect and the salmon was better than that! The garlic on the prawns made the meal so flavorful. Que sabroso!!

I said it was the most expensive thing on the menu... It was only 15 bucks for a meal the fed me for 2 days. I eat ALOTTT so that means the portions were huge :))))) yummmzzzzzzzyyyyy

If you ever want to get the best food your ever going to have throughout your whole life, THEN GO TO PANCHO VILLA even if you don't conveniently have a volleyball tournament 1 free-way exit away hahaha!!!! Its in San Mateo at 365 South B Street. Get directions on google and your taste buds will love you<333

Pandulces

Pandulces are little bakery goods that you get at the Mexican super market. They are usually filled with fruit or a custard and coated in cinnamon. They are my new favorite midnight snack, but it is more like a meal because if you eat one, you will want 5 more. For example, I had like 4 yesterday when I was only supposed to finish my dad's.

Sorry not too much this week. I have a volleyball tournament up in Sacramento that starts at seven thirty in the morning on Saturday...

I will see anyone who cares in 2 weeks

Congressional Congress Hearing

Good evening. Katie Couric here for CBS Evening News. There was a mock congressional hearing both today and Monday in Mr. Pinza's classroom at Westmont High School in Campbell, California. And we now some live footage...

This is Chris Shmoltz reporting for CBS News. It was an interesting and very successful congressional hearing were in room 76 at Westmont High School. The members of the committee were asking the witnesses their position on whether or not journalists should be required to earn licenses before they are able to report.

One witness, Uncle Sam, has his own opinion:

Shmoltz(J.C. Mitchell): Are you for or against making journalism a licensed occupation?

Uncle Sam(Miguel Zaragosa): I'm against the proposition for licensed journalism.

Shmoltz: Why not? And do you think the United States currently has problems with its news companies and the news that these companies present every night???

Uncle Sam: I'm against this proposition because I feel that journalism doesn't necessarily have to be factual. I believe that people are entitled to their opinion and they should be allowed to say what they want on TV. And as for your second question, yes I do think that America has a problem. I think that we as Americans are being brainwashed by the news we are given by the big news corporations on TV.

Shmoltz: How do you propose we solve this problem???

Uncle Sam: Unfortunately the only solution I have is that the public analyze and form their own opinions rather based on a summary or a good amount of newscasts rather then listening to the news show that has the most money or is the most entertaining.

Shmoltz: Is the American public responsible for this ignorance toward the news that you say exists?

Uncle Sam: No... I think that the government doesn't tell anyone that news can and is usually inaccurate. The government should be telling the public that they should listen to a broad variety of newscasts in order to form a dynamic opinion.

Shmoltz: But wouldn't the big corporate news corporations dislike this because they would lose ratings because their would be more competition and diversity?

Uncle Sam: Yeah but I don't care. They can suck it. They will only make a million less dollars a year. Boo Hoo. They got hundreds of more millions to spend

Shmoltz: Thank you so much for your time

Thai Cuisine/The Blue Mango

Anyone that tells you that thai food is nasty has never eaten in. They're just saying that because they are afraid of trying new, foreign foods. I love the combination between savory and spicy in the sauces. They are amazing and just some of the tastiest dishes in the cooking world.

My favorite thai dish would have to be a basic yellow curry with carrots potatoes and onions. I just love you the sauce goes good with everything and all the sauces mix together deliciously well. The flavors from the vegetables go into the sauce and make it so delicious in my tummy. Especially if there is a side of rice that soaks up all the curry juice at the end :)

Unfortunately, since I lack a license, I can't exactly go searching for the best thai restraunt in the bay area. The one i have been too, however, was absolutely delicious. It's called The Blue Mango and i wanna say it's on Steven's Creek right by Santana Row. It's the best and my dad had his birthday dinner there last July. I had no complaints so if your feeling adventurous and want to try some new, really delicious food, you should go to The Blue Mango...........

Food is so good and thai food is just the best. If I could have thai food every day for dinner for the rest of my life that is what I would do.

I Love Me Some Fried Chicken

What's the worst food that you could put in your body? I'd say fried chicken.

But if it's soooooo bad then why do people love it.

Maybe its because of all the fat. Or maybe its because of the crunchy breaded outside. Or maybe its because of the yummy hot sauce you dip it in.

Regardless of why you like it, its some of the tastiest stuff on the planet. My favorite is definitely home made but KFC is a close second.

But the best chicken is in Louisiana at Rosco's Chicken and Waffles. I want to go to Louisiana for one day just so I can eat there haha.

Another post in 2 weeks

MAI DI AN PHO GA

Alright, I know that title will mean nothing to anyone who doesn't speak Vietnamese. It means "you are going to go eat pho ga." But maybe I should tell you what pho ga is.

If you don't already know, pho ga is a Vietnamese soup that is like chicken soup but with yummy noodles and veggies. You can get it with any type of meat you want. I prefer the pho ga which is the chicken soup.

I have been eating a lot of pho lately and I try to get it like once a week. The best pho is in east-side San Jose and in downtown San Jose. But instead of driving half an hour to get the good stuff, I found this good little shack right by the library and i go there all the time.

If you want to try my pho restaurant or are looking for others comment and let me know. Next week I am going to do my thread on Mexican food so let me in on your favorite spots so I know where to get the good stuff.

Laterrrrr

I personally like all kinds of food; Mexican food, Vietnamese food, White People Food. Its all sooooooooo good. This making me wanna go make some food right now.
